The first ever Lion King Tour is just around the corner! It opens on Friday 31 August at the Bristol Hippodrome.
2011 was the most successful year for The Lion King musical in the West End. It broke the industry record for the highest annual gross box office in the history of West End shows. You might ask, why hasn’t it gone on the road before now? Well, it took 4 years to get to this stage – now finally it is here!
Young Simba and Young Nala are being played by a group of local young actors, and the rest of the cast represents 12 different nationalities! Cleveland Cathnott, Carol Stenett and Gugwana Dlamini, who have all appeared in the West End show, will reprise their roles of Mufasa, Nala and Rafiki respectively. Nichloas Nkuna will make his UK debut as Simba.
The Lion King tour begins and Bristol Hippodrome. After 11 weeks, the musical moves to The Palace Theatre, in Manchester. It will be on the road for two years in total.
