Denise Van Outen to Write & Star in One Woman Show

Denise Van Outen in no stranger to the stage having previously starred in Chicago as Roxy Hart in 2001, Tell Me On Sunday,  Andrew Lloyd Webber’s own one woman show in 2003 and Legally Blonde in 2010.
As well as these stage credits she has been a presenter for Hairspray: The School Musical – searching for young performers in UK high schools, a judge on BBC’s Any Dream Will Do, where she met future husband, and winner Lee Mead, as well as going back to her roots as the narrator of ITV’s The Only Way Is Essex.
She is now adding writer to her list of attributes. Following on from her role in the one woman show, Tell Me On Sunday, she has said that now she is writing her own. She won’t give any details on the plot yet but she described it as “quite Shirley Valentine” suggesting monologues from a working-class housewife, who could perhaps be from Essex, as she is planning to star in it too!
She hopes that one day, she can take it to the West End. This sounds like an interesting venture for Denise, and one that we can see being quite successful!
We can’t wait to hear more about it!
